I work in a variety of techniques and materials as a professional artist. Every day that I teach drawing skills I return to my beginning as an artist – a fifth grader who was astounded by the fact that there was an Art Room in my new school.  Spiraling through my life as I grow, I have always returned to the joy of discovery. It is in the discovery of something totally new or the discovery of the depth of something that I have already been doing for a long time. I have been mastering encaustics for a decade now and this summer I returned to my beginnings with the medium by reconnecting to a community of artists and the joy of the material – beeswax.
